Guardian Angel: Childhood 12
"My daughter, just as you prepare in My presence, so also you make your confession before Me. The person of the priest is, for Me, only a screen. Never analyze what sort of a priest it is that I am making use of; open your soul in confession as you would to Me, and I will fill it with My light." (1725) --St. Faustina, Divine Mercy in My Soul
All of our family in heaven - God, Mary, saints and angels - rejoice to have us home again, like the prodigal son, when we confess our sins with true contrition and do penance. Christ is waiting there, His Heart burning, for us to bring Him our sins so He can free us of them. For this He died on the cross.
Confession is a sacrament, and all sacraments revolve around and build into the Most Holy Sacrament, the summit and source of the Christian faith: the Eucharist. We ought to go to confession often - this makes us sensitive to our soul, brings us ever closer to God, and cleans the temple of our bodies for the coming of Christ in the Eucharist. Even the Pope goes to confession once a week.
Our girl has not yet received her first Holy Communion, but she is about to. She prepares herself to receive her Lord by going to Him through the person of the priest in confession, and then spends time, guided by her guardian angel, in quiet prayer and reflection. This is the second to last page of "Guardian Angel: Childhood."
