Guardian Angel II 02
This page was done entirely on the computer. It became a little pixelated when I saved it as a jpg. I used a painting of Christ Crucified under the first image image and then matched colors and "painted"over it to match Christ, then got rid of the underlying image. I wanted Jesus to look especially real.
The first image intends to show the reality of transubstantiation. The Eucharist really truly becomes the glorified body and blood of Christ Crucified, and all of the heavens celebrate the Mass with us. The Mass is the mystical meeting of Heaven and Earth. However, while her Guardian Angel is rapt in adoration of Jesus, our girl has lost the sense of and forgotten His very Real Presence. "With all watchfulness keep thy heart, because life issueth out from it." (Proverbs 4:23) She hasn't guarded her heart, and again, is choosing to preen her outward appearance rather than feed her soul on the immense treasure and Supernatural beauty and grace available to her.
“Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul.”
--St Augustine
"If we but paused for a moment to consider attentively what takes place in this Sacrament, I am sure that the thought of Christ’s love for us would transform the coldness of our hearts into a fire of love and gratitude."
-- St. Angela of Foligno
"The Eucharist is the Sacrament of Love; It signifies Love, It produces love. The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life."
--Saint Thomas Aquinas
All He craves is union with us. And He knows our hearts even when no one else does.
Again, she is feeding her vanity by choosing her appearance over Christ.
