Guardian Angel II Page 30
A little artistic license going on here. This is the last page of our Guardian Angel webcomic. She has offered her heart to Christ in Confession, and embraces His Heart for her own - Crown of Thorns and all. She brings it to herself. One of the many signs and symbols of the Holy Spirit is water. Not only that, but it is the water of rebirth, the physical form and sign of the Sacrament of Baptism. And Holy Water, like the rosary, is a weapon against demons. So as she takes Sacred Heart for her own, the waters spread outwards over her. "The healing grace of the Sacrament of Penance washes away sin and gives us the strength to avoid that sin again," (Fr. Saunders). The stars behind her show that she now is oriented towards heaven, and she feels her place as a beloved daughter of God. And all around her, you see the embrace of her Guardian Angel's wings. . . Her Guardian Angel being a messenger of God's love to her, and her protector and guide as she re-embarks on her journey to serve God. As she grows in love of God under the protection of her Guardian Angel and with the aid of the rosary, she will grow in her awareness of even the smallest of sins. With an increase of love of God will come an increase of love of the Sacrament of Confession.
In heaven, Mary and all the angels and saints rejoice over each Confession. Luke tells us, ". . . there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety nine righteous persons who do not need to repent," (Lk 15:7).
Our Guardian Angels remain at our side, prompting, loving, protecting and guiding until death. One could imagine that as we enter the gates of Heaven, not only we, but also our Guardian Angels hear, "Well done, My good and faithful servant."
END OF THE SECOND HALF OF GUARDIAN ANGEL. Next week we will pick up where St. Moses the Black left off.
