Saint Faustina
On The Grapevine 09
Saint Faustina was trying to avoid prayer, and so the Lord told her He would take her heart, leaving her with an emptiness and a great desire to return to the chapel. She made an excuse to the Mother Superior, saying she had asked the sisters to return shortly after they arrived in order to be back before evening. Christ would not give her back her heart until she explained truthfully. Christ used St. Faustina to spread devotion to and reveal his Divine Mercy. He told her, "I am sending you with My mercy to the people of the whole world. I do not want to punish mankind, but I desire to heal it, pressing it to My merciful Heart." "You are my secretary of mercy. I have chosen you for that office in this and the next life." Pope Saint John Paul II canonized St. Faustina and declared tomorrow, the second Sunday of Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday.
