Hello and God be with you all!
I know it has been a long time since I posted. . . weeks kept getting away from me without any time to sit down and paint a new page.
However, I have been busy with some pretty wonderful stuff! I visited the Discalced Carmelite Monastery of Jesus, Mary and Joseph in Elysburg, PA - and I loved them! It was all so beautiful. The nuns are steeped in such deep love, humility, and wisdom - I felt surrounded by little St. Therese's. I don't know how I got there. . . I certainly don't deserve it! They are so far and above, so joyful, prayerful, loving and humble. I feel like a thief that stumbled upon a precious jewel, and it wasn't intended for me - but I'm not going to let it go! I even felt at the time that if I did NOT attempt to follow Christ down this wondrous, challenging, so far beyond me path to sanctity, I could hardly call myself a Christian any more. So I applied. . . hoping. And in God's great mercy, I was accepted! I just found out on May 12th. I will be a rusty tin can among Crown Jewels!
The nuns would like me to enter on September 4th, 2016. I have student debt to pay off first - I went to college for Marine Biology, but spent the last 4 years as the live-in caregiver for my great grandma, so paying off the loans has been slow going. I still have $14,000 that I will need help raising before I can enter. . . I have a fundly page and a shop on Etsy to help, and am working on some brochures and letters to send out. But I had a little time this week to make a quick On The Grapevine for you - so enjoy!
